Shichirou Kobayashi (August 30, 1932 – August 25, 2022) was a renowned Japanese animation art director and founder of Kobayashi Production. Born in Hokkaido, Japan, Kobayashi graduated from Musashino Art University before embarking on a career in the animation industry. After working as an elementary school art teacher, Kobayashi joined Toei Douga in 1964 as an art director. He later became a part of Gendai Seisaku Shuudan in 1968 before establishing his own studio, Kobayashi Production, in 1969.
